General Information for NamesCon Global 2019
What is NamesCon?
NamesCon is the largest annual domain-industry conference. Our flagship event takes place each January in Las Vegas. It’s a space for everyone from industry leaders to novice domainers to connect and network while attending engaging talks and seminars.
Where does NamesCon Global take place?
NamesCon Global is located at the Tropicana Las Vegas, a classic hotel casino on the Las Vegas Strip just minutes from the airport.
How do I get to and from NamesCon?
McCarran International Airport is just 3 miles away from the Tropicana. Taxis, as well as Uber and Lyft cars, are all easily accessible whether you are coming or going. Full ground transportation information here: https://www.mccarran.com/go.aspx
What kind of people will I meet?
NamesCon attendees include registrars, registries, web hosting companies, attorneys, brand managers, investors, entrepreneurs, affiliate and digital marketers, and individual end-users. Our attendees come from all over the world! NamesCon 2018 welcomed nearly 1200 people from over 41 countries. We know that the connections you’ll make here will be both important and unexpected.
What happens on Saturday—the day before NamesCon?
On Saturday there are no official events planned; however, as many people prefer to arrive a day or two in advance, we’ll have our registration desk open for early badge pick-up from 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm. We also encourage attendees to use the NamesCon app to connect with each other for casual networking, or to explore all that Las Vegas has to offer.
Do I have to stay for the entire conference?
No. But come for as long as you can—you won’t want to miss a thing. Most attendees arrive on Saturday and depart on Wednesday or Thursday.
If I come for just one or two days, do I still have to pay full price?
Yes. At this time we do not offer one-day tickets. We do not extend partial refunds for single-day attendees, nor for attendees who have to leave early due to unforeseen circumstances.
Are children permitted at NamesCon?
Yes. While NamesCon is geared towards professionals, we understand that in some cases it may be easier for attendees to bring their family along. Children are allowed, but if they are over 16, they will have to purchase a ticket for entry. We ask that parents please ensure that quiet spaces are respected for presentations in session.
Individuals under the age of 21 who are attending evening events will be given an identification wristband. All attendees are subject to ID checks from Tropicana banquet and bar staff.
I would like to attend. How do I register?
You can register on our website at https://namescon.com/. All of our registrations are processed through Eventbrite.
Please ensure you enter correct name and company details as these fields will be used to create your name badge. You will be charged for a reprint on site if you want to change any of your badge details.
Each attendee must submit a unique e-mail address—please do not use placeholder e-mail addresses or register multiple individuals under one e-mail, as those registered under redundant addresses will not be able to log in and use our mobile app.
What’s included in a Standard Pass?
Access to all conference sessions, the exhibit hall, networking events, and the NamesCon mobile app.
What’s included in a VIP Pass?
- Everything in the Standard Pass, as well as:
- VIP status identified on the badge
- Expedited event admission
- VIP session seating
- Entry to the NamesCon VIP Lounge with daily catered lunch, plus beverage service (coffee, tea, beer)
Where can I book my hotel accommodations for this event?
Visit namescon.com/hotel to book under the NamesCon room block to ensure you are included on any room drops (gifts delivered right to your room!) and enjoy the exclusive benefits we have negotiated for NamesCon guests, which include lower room rates and a discounted Resort Fee.
I have registered, but I would like to modify my contact details.
You may edit the attendee info via your Eventbrite account. Please ensure ALL required fields are correct for each attendee, especially the e-mail address, as we require a unique e-mail for every single attendee.
I am already registered, but now I want to upgrade to VIP.
You will need to request a refund request through Eventbrite and re-register, then select the VIP pass. We are not able to append a VIP order to your existing order.
I have registered, but I have not received any email confirmation. Can you help?
Your registration confirmation email should have been sent directly from Eventbrite immediately upon payment completion. If you did not receive a confirmation email, please contact email@example.com, and we can resend.
I need a Visa for this event. Can you help?
NamesCon is happy to provide signed Letters of Invitation to be used for US Visa purposes. You can read more about this here: https://namescon.global/letter-of-invitation-requests/.
Will you send the event documentation before the event?
NamesCon does not send paper documentation before the event. All badges can be picked up on site by providing your e-mail address or name upon arrival.
I don’t have my badge. What should I do?
If your badge is not at the pickup desk upon arrival, you may have registered after our printer submission deadline. But not to worry! Our staff will be able to print your badge on-site; just stop by the registration desk to let them know.
If you lose your badge during NamesCon, we can print a new one for you. Please stop by the registration desk during conference hours and our staff will be happy to assist.
My plans have changed, and now I can’t attend NamesCon. Do I get a refund?
If you have purchased a pre-sale or early-bird ticket, you may not request a refund. If you have purchased Phase 1 or Phase 2 tickets, you may request a refund up to 60 days before the event. If you are unable to attend the event, you can transfer your ticket to another attendee ($50 transfer fee applies) or save it for the next year’s event.
Can I get the attendee list?
Our attendee lists are confidential, and not available for public distribution. All attendees, sponsors, and exhibitors have access to the NamesCon app, which provides a great way to connect with attendees before and during the conference.
How do I become a sponsor or exhibitor at NamesCon?

Do I have to sponsor in order to speak or give a presentation?
Our sponsors have first right of refusal for many of our speaking slots; however, we’re always interested in connecting with people with great ideas and stories to tell! If you’d like to get involved, please drop us a line with a brief bio, links to prior speaking engagements, and an outline of what you’d like to share.
