If we want to break the cycle of poverty, education is the best place to start.
Guatemala’s school system is severely crippled by overcrowded classrooms, broken infrastructure, and a lack of resources. Public spending for education in the region is inadequate, so school-age children aren’t getting the tools they need to reach their potential.
The student population at El Rosario School in Los Encuentros is growing, and some kids have been turned away due to lack of space—it’s urgent that we expand the school building to ensure that all pupils can attend classes and receive quality education.
Changing the future sounds like a pretty big task, but together we can do it. Even small donations can go a long way: education is the most powerful force in breaking the cycle of poverty, so let’s change the future for these kids.
